Seychelles’ select the 2015 Carnival song

And the first prize goes to … Trassy Carolla, aka Telsy’ whose Carnival song for 2015 will no doubt become the earworm on the Seychelles all the previously selected signature tunes turned out to be.

With 70 days remaining to the start of this year’s fifth edition of the ‘Karnaval de Carnivals’ are all systems now go and the team from the Seychelles Tourism Board and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture tasked to deliver another picture perfect carnival performance is now working literally nonstop towards the grand parade on the 25th of April.

Cambodia was the latest country to confirm participation in the global carnival event, which is now already ranked among the top five international carnival festivals.

The Tequila Boom Night Club in Bel Ombre was the venue for the presentation of the finalists and at hand were the Principal Secretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Ms. Anne Lafortune, representing the Minister of Tourism who was abroad and the CEO of the Seychelles’ Tourism Board Ms. Sherin Naiken besides representatives of key sponsors and other invited guests.

The annual carnival festival has become a major shop window for the Seychelles, attracting huge media publicity from around the world and carnivalistas have started to mark the even in their diaries to come to the Seychelles as they do pilgrimage to Rio, Notting Hill or Duesseldorf.

Travel to the Seychelles is made easy through a ‘No Visa Needed’ open door policy with all required being a confirmed hotel booking, a return or onward ticket and sufficient funds for upkeep – visitors from some regions like Eastern Africa also require a valid Yellow Fever inoculation certificate – and hey presto is one admitted into what has often been described as the remaining part of the erstwhile Garden of Eden. In addition doe Emirates fly double daily from Dubai, Kenya Airways flies four times a week from Nairobi, Ethiopian three times a week from Addis, Mihin Lanka three times a week from Colombo, Air Austral twice a week from Reunion and Condor once a week from Frankfurt to the archipelago, offering a wide range of choices how to get there.
