A bilateral air services agreements, in short known as BASA, between the Seychelles and Poland is finally at the stage of ratification, after the cabinet in Victoria gave the required approval.

The agreement dates back to 2021 but was not brought to ratification by the previous government.

Once ratified can both countries designate an airline to fly between Poland and the Seychelles, likely to be the national airlines Air Seychelles and LOT.

Poland could be another emerging source market for tourist visitors to the Seychelles where the war in the Middle East between the US and Israel and Iran has significantly impacted on the connectivity and subsequent tourist arrivals brought in by Gulf carriers like Qatar Airways, Emirates and Etihad.

Tourism is the economic lifeline of the Seychelles islands and any downturn in fortunes has immediate impacts on workforce, foreign exchange earnings and economic performance across the country.

Once air services commence between the Seychelles and Poland will ATCNews inform readers accordingly.
