Simba Portfolio Lodges yesterday announced the opening of the third lodge on the northern safari circuit in Tanzania. Located just outside the newly opened Sangaiwe Gate on the west side of Tarangire National Park, Tarangire Simba Lodge joins Karatu Simba and Serengeti Simba Lodges in offering hospitality in the wilderness.
Like its sister lodges, Tarangire Simba Lodge has an eco-friendly footprint with solar power and hot water throughout. Keeping with the unique style of the other two lodges, this fully tented lodge under thatch features hand made African hard wood furniture and full amenities. Each of the eight tents (eight more are scheduled to open in January 2016) has an outdoor as well as indoor shower. The lodge property abuts the National Park and is home to a variety of wildlife including giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, antelope, elephant, ostrich and more. Most guests have seen wildlife right from the tents.
Stunning views to Lake Burunge especially during sunsets are spectacular from the terrace of the lodge. There is a separate reception, bar/lounge and dining room all connected by wooden walkways and decking with free wi-fi available in these areas. The large swimming pool offers respite during the warm weather. There is a definite “bush feeling” to the lodge with lovely vistas of acacia woodland and majestic baobab trees. A popular spot for guests is the elevated viewing platform located between the lounge and dining room.
‘We’re delighted that our guests so far have enjoyed the lodge‘ commented Navtej Mudher, Director of the family owned and operated lodge. Mudher explained ‘Our goal has been to create a full circuit in northern Tanzania with a consistency of accommodation and hospitality afforded by Simba Portfolio, and the addition of this lodge does that‘.
