Tanzania’s Karibu Travel Market brings spotlight back on the country

KARIBU TRAVEL MARKET TANZANIA ENDS ON HIGH NOTE

(Posted 01st June 2015)

Tanzania’s premier tourism trade show, the Karibu Travel Market Tanzania, ended yesterday evening on a high. Ugandan tourism stakeholders attending the fair expressed their satisfaction with the range of business contacts they were able to make and the opportunities to sign contracts, as did a number of other exhibitors and attendees from the wider region.

The ‘trade only’ day on the 29th of May and the opening evening cocktail function, the first opportunity to get to know each other, renew old contacts and generally engage in early bird networking, were well received according to comments obtained, as was the venue at the Magereza ground near the Arusha Municipal Airport.

Efforts by competitors staging a similar event just a week apart to downtalk KTMT clearly failed and according to feedback requested from two regular participants in the Karibu Travel Market Tanzania there was consensus that none of those who exhibited or had come from the wider region would give the other fair even a second thought, leave alone attend. ‘For me and my colleagues it is a no brainer. We go to Karibu because we are sure that we can do business here. Karibu does not need to brag, they deliver. We will be back next year’ responded a regular source to questions posed.
