Three suspected poachers nabbed in Marsabit / Kenya with 39.5kg of elephant tusks

Three suspected poachers are being held at a Marsabit police station after they were arrested in possession of 13 elephant tusks. The trio was apprehended in a rented house in the Majengo area of Marsabit town. Confirming the incident, Marsabit County Police Commander Leonard Kimaiyo said the suspects were found with elephant tusks weighing a total of 39.5 kilograms, with an estimated street value of Ksh.600,000. Kimaiyo revealed that the arrests were made by police officers acting on a tip-off from members of the public.
