Dr. Tsvetan Penev, ATM Director, Indra Group in Germany

Dr. Penev leads the global Aeronautical Information business and, in this role, drives international business growth and fosters strategic partnerships with ANSPs and aviation authorities worldwide.

He began his career with a short stay at EUROCONTROL, contributing to compression algorithms, XML-based data processing and geospatial services, as well as early evaluations related to AIXM 5 and xNOTAM. In 2007, he joined the Technical University of Darmstadt as a research associate at the Institute of Flight Systems and Automatic Control.

In 2013, he joined the Indra Group in Germany, where he started as SWIM Product Manager. In 2016, he took on the role of Head of Product Management for the aeronautical information product lines, contributing to the evolution of AIM and SWIM capabilities. He holds a PhD in Aviation Data and Databases and a Master’s degree in Mathematics with Computer Science from the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Samet Yaprak, Product Manager for Flight Planning Solutions, Indra Group

Mr. Yaprak leads the development and delivery of the company’s flight planning and FF-ICE portfolio, working with air navigation service providers worldwide across multiple international projects to modernize flight planning and adopt FF-ICE.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. Before moving into product management, he worked as a software lead developer, and his earlier career includes roles at a US-based company. He joined the Indra Group five years ago, where he has been closely involved in bringing FF-ICE from concept into operation, including Europe’s first CP1-compliant FF-ICE solution at ROMATSA.

His work focuses on helping ANSPs adopt FF-ICE through a pragmatic, phased approach that maintains operational continuity on the path to trajectory-based operations. He holds a degree in Electronics Engineering and a Master’s in International Security Strategies, Management, and Leadership.
