The Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) has announced the temporary suspension of passenger train services in Zambia due to a goods train accident in the Nakonde District. The accident took place on 22 September 2022 at 09:45 and involved a freight train (Train No. A779, Loco No.3009/3019) operated by African Inland Container Depot (AFICD), a Tanzanian based private railway operator with “open access” rights on the TAZARA infrastructure.
