The Avalon Golf Estate is among one of the newest golf courses on the Island of Mauritius, in the heart of Bois Chéri, known for its tea plantations.
Designed by the famous South African architect Peter Matkovitch, the course spreads over the hills that overhang the island’s coastlines. It shows off the varied, luxuriant vegetation that gives the area the appearance of a beautiful tropical garden.
The palm trees blend with colourful flowers, ferns, ravines and aromatic plants. A real delight for the players, who were filled with wonder as they enjoyed an incredible day there.
In spite of challenging holes and sometimes blind plays, the golfers showed us some beautiful play. There was a standing ovation for Richard PELISSERO who scored a fabulous eagle ‘drive put’ on the 4th hole. His team greeted him with hugs.
Several teams stood out today! Birdies flourished on the course…
