Seychelles inch closer to Pre-Pandemic Arrival figures

The Seychelles recovery seems to be reaching its full circle after two years of struggles and assiduous efforts from the local tourism stakeholders. Visitor arrival figures have hit the 20,000 visitors mark again, with 21, 566 tourists recorded for the first month of 2022.. Read here


South Africa rolls out e-Visa Program President South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa says the eVisa system has been launched in 14 countries, including China, India, Kenya and Nigeria, according to government’s commitment.
President Ramaphosa said the government is also streamlining and modernising the visa application process to make it easier to travel to South Africa for tourism, business and work. Read more  here



Tourism Leaders call for Urgent Action to Protect the Ocean



Tourism’s central role in advancing the Blue Economy was highlighted as UNWTO chaired a special session and joined a Heads of State panel at the One Ocean Summit, hosted by the French Presidency this week. In a session on “Tourism in the Blue Economy” co-hosted with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and France, high level representatives stressed how implementing a blue economy can combat the threats of climate change, plastic pollution and over exploitation of resources.
