In his enduring quest to protect and save the African elephants has Jim Justus Nyamu now entered Texas after completing his walk through Arizona.
Today 10th of October 2026 in the morning Texas time, will he start his day’s walk in El Paso.
Tomorrow, Sunday October 11th , 2026, at 9:00 AM, he will continue his 20th Edition of the Ivory Belongs to Elephants / Walking for Giants campaign, walking 17 miles east from El Paso towards San Antonio, Texas.
His recent visit to the El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens inspired him to reflect on the powerful connection between desert conservation and African elephant conservation. From native desert plants to Africa’s magnificent elephants, every species depends on healthy ecosystems, protected habitats, and responsible environmental stewardship.
Climate change, habitat loss, water scarcity, and human-wildlife conflict are challenges that connect our landscapes across continents.
As the African Elephant Man, he will walk not only for elephants but also for the future of our planet and generations yet to come.
