Want Limo service? Pay full fare says #Emirates!

REWARD TICKETS AND UPGRADES NO LONGER QUALIFY FOR LIMO SERVICES AS EMIRATES SEEKS TO CUT COSTS

(Posted 16th January 2019)

Effective 01st of March this year will Emirates discontinue providing chauffeur and limo services for premium passengers, unless they have paid the full fare for their tickets.
Emirates loyalty card holders, using their hard earned miles to get upgrades or reward tickets, will as of that date no longer be able to access that service, which has earned the airline much praise and loyal customers around the world.
Emirates profits have plunged according to statements released late last year, by as much as 86 percent over the previous year, in part attributed to higher fuel cost and in part to a tougher business environment. The airline at the time also suggested that 2019 would be a ‘tough year‘ for them.
Emirates flies daily from Dubai to Entebbe – as does FlyDubai, their sister company – and in the wider region also serves Nairobi with three flights a day as well as Dar es Salaam.
2019 will pose additional challenges to Emirates – and FlyDubai – as a result of the closure of one of the international airport’s runways for a complete overhaul, resulting in a reduction of flights by as much as 25 percent during that period.
