Who will be Kenya’s next Eco-Warriors?

RESPONSIBLE TOURISM ENTHUSIASTS ALL SET FOR ECOWARRIOR AWARDS NIGHT IN NAIROBI

The Eco Warrior Awards nominees judging process is almost done with and the much awaited announcement on the short-list expected within the next 72 hours. That means attention turns to the Awards night itself on 14th October where over two thirds of the tables are already sold and those wishing to attend should act fast to secure their place. There will be no registration at the door.

With a theme of ‘Sustainable Tourism: Our Diversity, Our Strength’, and once again being held at the culmination of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE’16), the award celebrations will be hosted at the newest hotel in town – Radisson Blu, Nairobi and will be a colourful display of local, regional and international guests adorned in ‘animal print themed’ dinner costumes.
The Chief Guest this year is the Kenya Tourism Minister Hon. Najib Balala who will be joining 450 participants including international and regional hosted buyers, CEOs/MD from the government and private sector, media, tourism and travel practitioners, tourism and conservation associations, training institutions and students.

The Ecotourism Kenya’s Eco Warrior Awards Gala is usually an entertainment packed evening giving participants incredible value. Besides the chance to dress up in your glamorous wear, there will be a four-course dinner with complementary wine, soft drinks and beer, live entertainment by a local band, DJ and dancing, great networking with the industry and the international trade, an opportunity to win one of the over 20 holiday raffle tickets from our members and to top it all, the chance to witness first-hand the 2016 Eco Warrior Award winners!
Ecotourism Kenya hosts the Eco Warrior Awards and encourages its members to self-nominate themselves at no charge. To create credibility in the award, the judging process has been outsourced to a third party and EK team’s involvement is very minimal. A team of carefully selected individuals who are a good mix of professionals in sustainable tourism and trained experts in hotel grading and classification takes charge of picking the winners under the leadership of a renowned Chief Judge – Judy Kepher-Gona. Judy has extensive expertise in responsible tourism awards and serves as a judge and assessor for the Eco-Warrior Awards, Tourism for Tomorrow Awards and World Legacy Awards.
