QATAR AIRWAYS – A NEW HOME LAUNCHES A NEW AGE

At 9 am local time in Doha will Qatar Airways both move to the new Hamad International Airport as well as commence flight operations into the spanking new mega airport, which was built to accommodate future growth of air-traffic and provide a state of the art home for the world’s erstwhile 5 star airline.
Qatar Airways connects the Eastern African airports of Entebbe, Kigali, Nairobi, Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam to Doha and from there into a growing number of destinations around the world.
Passengers of QR can look forward to a completely new transit experience when flying via Doha with the facilities of the new airport already lined up to capture major global awards come the next award season. Passengers flying out of Doha on First or Business Class – out of East Africa presently only Business and Economy class are available on the A320 used on the routes, can look forward to some of the best lounges available anywhere in the world and economy class passengers also will find wide open spaces and shopping facilities ready to rival Dubai which has always prided itself as one of the best offerings for airline passengers.
In June this year will the airline take delivery of their first Airbus A380, which will be deployed on the route to London Heathrow as one of 5 daily scheduled flights from Doha while the soon to follow second such aircraft will be operating on the route to Paris before additional deliveries then allow Qatar’s national airline to further spread their wings into the world.
QR, launch customer of the Boeing B787 Dreamliner in the Middle East will be global launch customer later this year for the latest Airbus aircraft, the A350 XWB. Now in its 17th year of operation the airline has more than 300 aircraft on order, presently flies 134 aircraft to 140 destinations around the world and is the only one of the major Gulf airlines to have joined a global alliance, oneworld, of which it instantly became a lead member owing to the airline’s standing with Skytrax, the global rating and ranking system.
