Additional B737-800NG boosts airline’s fleet

AIR MADAGASCAR LEASES B737-800NG IN FLEET EXPANSION EXERCISE

Air Madagascar last week took delivery of a Boeing B737-800NG, MSN 40965 registered as 5R-EBA and configured with a two class cabin offering 8 Business Class and 156 Economy Class seats.

The leased aircraft arrived in Antananarivo on Thursday and will from early this week operate services to Reunion’s Roland Garros International Airport in the capital St. Denise but according to details received also serve Mauritius, Johannesburg, Moroni and notably Nosy Be, bringing added seats on the route to the popular tourist destination.

It is understood that Air Madagascar is also planning a return to Nairobi in due course.

In a related development has the airline just completed the EASA safety audit (Part 145) and the results are expected to be published soon.
