AIR FRANCE JOINS #KENYAAIRWAYSKLM CODE SHARE DEAL

(Posted 27th March 2018)

The arrival in Nairobi of the first Air France flight from Paris provided cause for a dual celebration in the Kenyan capital.
The French airline has yesterday started a three times a week service between the two capitals after having withdrawn from the route years ago and leaving it to Kenya Airways to provide nonstop flights. Air France, like Kenya Airways, is using a Boeing B787 on the route.
Now that AF is back have the two airlines also signed an additional codeshare deal, joining the existing agreement between Kenya Airways and KLM.
It is understood that passengers on the route on flights either operated by KQ or by AF now have access to a whopping additional 57 destinations beyond Paris and 26 African destinations beyond Nairobi on flights by the two partner airlines. Triangular flights between Nairobi and Amsterdam, via Paris, are said to be part of the deal.
The three airlines, through Kenya Airways, had sought permission in Kenya to collaborate in terms of marketing, pricing and sales activities.

All three are part of the SkyTeam global airline alliance.
