AIRKENYA NEWS UPDATE

Please find below important news updates from Airkenya:

NO INCREASE RELATED to VAT ON FUEL
We have had numerous enquiries on our position in regards to VAT which is now applied on fuel prices. AIRKENYA is pleased to advise that we shall not increase or effect any surcharges in this regards at this time. We are monitoring the global fuel prices however, and any drastic increase could result in fuel surcharge being implemented.

TANZANIA SECURITY TAX
AIRKENYA shall not increase or effect any surcharge in relation to the TAA Security Tax. This means the AIRKENYA Kilimanjaro Tax will not be increased.

YELLOW FEVER CERTIFICATES REQUIRED
It is mandatory to have and produce your Yellow Fever certificates on entry into Kenya or Tanzania. We urge you to please ensure you and your guests travelling into Kenya or Tanzania attain their Yellow Fever certificates in advance and are able to produce them on request. This will expediate border crossing.

AIRKENYA POLICY ON EXTRA LARGE PERSONS REQUIRING TWO SEATS

The airline requires passengers to purchase an additional seat if they do not meet one of the following criteria:

  • The passenger must be able to properly attach, buckle and wear the seat belt, with one extension if necessary, whenever the seat belt sign is illuminated or as instructed by a crew member.
  • The passenger must be able to remain seated with the seat armrest(s) down for the entirety of the flight.
  • The passenger must not encroach upon the adjacent seating space.

Airkenya Express encourages passengers to address their seating needs at the time of the original booking/reservation. The additional seat will be purchased at a child fare, provided it is purchased at the time of booking.

In addition Airkenya Express allows any passenger who wishes to purchase an extra seat for their own comfort can do so at the time of original booking.

Airkenya standard seat width is 17inches or 44 centimeters.
