The Ugandan staff of Brussels Airlines recently joined their colleagues in Belgium and across the airline’s African, European and North American network to celebrate the 20th anniversary since the relaunch in 2002.

www.ATCNews.org had reported earlier that the company’s staff in Brussels had kicked off the celebrations with a grand party, both looking back at 20 years of successful operations as well as looking into the future, now as part of the Lufthansa Group.

The airline connects the European capital Brussels daily with Entebbe, operating two of the flights via Bujumbura / Burundi while five services come to Uganda via Kigali / Rwanda.

The Airbus A330-300 used on the route offers passengers a three class cabin layout of Economy, Premium Economy and Business.

The airline has been serving Uganda since 1953, first under the name of Sabena – then the Belgian flag carrier and national airline – and thereafter continuing services in 2002 after a brief absence as SN Brussels before being renamed as Brussels Airlines.

ATCNews, a media partner of Brussels Airlines, wishes the airline and all their staff once again a happy anniversary and happy landings for more decades to come.
