Jonny Anderson has finally taken up his new appointment as Chief Executive Officer at the Kenya Airport Authority.
He earlier today met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Gen. (Rtd) Julius Karangi, members of the board and also members of the management team to get formally introduced before settling down to a Herculean task of steering the KAA ship into calmer waters.
Previously in charge of Avinor in Norway, a state company managing seven airports across this Nordic nation, he is taking over at KAA which has been problem ridden for many a year now with one CEO after the next falling to allegations of corruption and misconduct and being axed from their jobs alongside other senior staff.
Mr. Anderson’s experience in managing key European airport will serve him well as the ‘action list‘ waiting for him in his intrays will be long and challenging, to transform not just KAA into a modern airport management company but in particular drive the modernization and expansion of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport forward, where a second runway is needed literally tomorrow.

KAA, besides JKIA and Wilson airports in Nairobi, also owns and operates the airports and aerodromes in Mombasa, Malindi, Ukunda, Manda / Lamu, Eldoret, Kisumu and several other secondary and tertiary airfields across Kenya.
