Mauritius Tourism launched new Mobile App

DESTINATION APPS NOW RULE NEW MARKET SEGMENTS FOR THE CYBER GENERATION

A new mobile app was launched earlier this week by the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) which can be installed on smartphones, phablets and tablets and downloaded free of charge.

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority launched its new mobile application, aptly named MyMauritius, in the presence of Kevin Ramkeloan, the Director General of the Tourist Office of Mauritius, Ashvin Sawmynaden, the one in charge ofe-marketing at the MTPA as well as members of the island’s tourism industry.

MyMauritius can be downloaded from Google Play and from Apple Store, covering both Android and iPhone / Apple users.

The App was developed by MTPA in collaboration with Hospitality Plus Ltd providing a wide range of of information to users such as Your First Time Here; Our Culture & Heritage, Activities, but also an interactive map with things to see, things to do, restaurants and key features of interest to tourists.

A map is free to download, and once the application is installed on the user’s mobile device, it is even available in an offline mode.

The App is currently available in English and French, and other languages including Chinese and German will reportedly be added by September.
