Another globally branded hotel, long plagued by delays similar to other pre-opening stories heard and told from the Kenyan capital, has finally opened its doors over the weekend. The Moevenpick Nairobi, located in the Westlands area of the city, now offers 276 rooms, suites and residences.
The hotel’s Superior rooms – the lowest room category available – offer 46 square metres of floor space as do the De Luxe rooms and the Executive rooms, while Family rooms with two beds are 10 square metres larger.
Suites, by nature, are larger with 79 square metres in size while the single Presidential Suite extends over 193 square metres.
The Residences, depending on 1 or two bedrooms, extend over 97 to 121 square metres respectively.
A revolving restaurant – a carbon copy of the owner’s Golf Course Hotel in Kampala – will give patrons a 360 degree view over the city while having a meal. Plenty of meeting facilities add to Nairobi’s appeal as a major African MICE destination.
16 meeting rooms, the largest two with floor space of 700 and just over 1.000 square metres each, put the new hotel in a position to host large conferences in house and a total of 6 F&B outlets makes sure, when the hotel is fully booked, that every guest can be fed and ‘watered’ on location.
The hotel also offers access to an Executive Lounge for qualifying guests.
Special offers have been put on the market during the soft opening period.
