Molori Mashuma, Located in Zimbabwe’s Magical Mana Pools, Opens for its First Season

Molori Safari, an esteemed name in luxury safari experiences, opens its new sister property, Molori Mashuma, an exclusive six tented camp nestled within the Mashuma Pan in Mana Pools, Zimbabwe, for its first full season, welcoming guests on April 1st, 2024.

Complementing the renowned Molori Safari in Madikwe, South Africa, Molori Mashuma invites guests to immerse themselves in the heart of Africa’s breath-taking landscape and wildlife. Named by the watering hole that the camp overlooks, Mashuma brings droves of thirsty wildlife into camp giving guests a front row seat to a magical wildlife show.  As part of the family-run Rora Private Collection, the camp sets the stage for an unforgettable journey, blending personalised service, exquisite camp interiors, and expert-guided activities tailored to create lasting memories.

Beyond its remarkable wilderness encounters, Molori Mashuma offers an array of luxurious amenities. Guests can unwind at the camp’s pool, indulge with a rejuvenating in room massage, and savour gourmet cuisine featuring locally sourced ingredients prepared by the camp’s skilled chefs. A fully stocked cocktail bar, coffee station, fine wine cellar, vintage whiskey collection and cigar humidor elevates the bush experience.

The camp features six spacious and elegantly appointed tented suites, each offering air-conditioned comfort and seclusion amidst the bushveld. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding environment, the design concept showcases a harmonious blend of luxury and nature, where bold and colourful art pieces combine with elements crafted by local artisans and communities, to add layers of authenticity and charm.

The accommodation is made up of four premier tented suites and two villa-style tented suites built with families and friends sharing in mind, with two identical ensuite bedrooms, living area, expansive deck and private plunge pool all overlooking the water pan.

Guests at Molori Mashuma can indulge in a variety of thrilling activities, from observing wildlife at Mashuma Pan to embarking on guided walking safaris in the diverse ecosystems of this unique environment. The camp’s strategic location offers prime opportunities for year-round game viewing within the wilderness areas surrounding the pans, among the Mana Pools (‘Mana’ meaning four in local Shona language) themselves and along the Zambezi riverfront, all providing excellent photographic opportunities as wildlife come to drink.

Eric Ichikowitz, co-owner of Molori Mashuma, expresses his enthusiasm, saying, “Mana Pools is one of the few UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Southern Africa, and once you’ve visited it, you can clearly understand why – its unique biodiversity and wildlife experience is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in all the years I’ve spent in the bush.”

Ideal for an immersive safari experience, Molori Mashuma complements its sister lodge, Molori Safari, providing guests with a seamless transition between two exceptional destinations. Open seasonally from April to October, Molori Mashuma promises unparalleled adventures amidst the natural splendour of Mana Pools.
