PRECISION AIR REMAINS #TANZANIA’S ONLY AIRLINE WITH IATA OPERATIONAL SAFETY AUDIT CERTIFICATION
(Posted 14th November 2018)
Precision Air has successfully renewed its IATA’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). Precision Air has been able to renew its IOSA registration for 6 consecutive validity periods.
The latest certification was granted after undergoing an extensive operational safety audit which is usually conducted every two years for all IATA members. Precision Air is the only airline and aircraft operator registered in Tanzania with IOSA registration and this is its 6th IOSA renewal registration since they joined the program with initial registration in 2006.
IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to access the operational management and control systems of an airline. The IOSA audit creates a standard that is comparable on a world-wide basis, enabling and maximizing the joint use of audit reports. The audit is conducted every two years and the airline is audited against IATA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARP’s) which are approximately 900.
There are eight (8) IOSA disciplines which are Organization & Management (ORG), Aircraft Engineering & Maintenance (MNT), Flight Operations (FLT), Operations Control & Flight Dispatch (DSP), Cabin Operations (CAB), Ground Handling Operations (GRH), Cargo Operations (CGO) and Security Management (SEC).
The current registration will be valid till 22nd September 2020 when the company will undergo another safety audit.
Commenting on the achievement, Precision Air’s Managing Director and CEO, Ms. Sauda Rajab said, “Safety and Security are our highest priority and it is in our mind constantly. We engaged and committed ourselves in this program so that we can continuously evaluate our airline operations for improvements, close any gaps and be up to date with the current national and international industry standards and best practices. These consecutive achievements could not have become the success it is without the support of the Management and commitment of our staff. We all bear the responsibility for ensuring aviation industry in the country remains safe and efficient and this will result to a better place by connecting people, businesses, tourism and eventually supporting the country economy growth and the Government.”
