The ‘Chui’ and the Aberdare Country Club among the 2014 TripAdvisor winners

KENYAS LODGES AND RESORTS SCOOP TRIPADVISOR ‘TRAVELERS CHOICE 2014’ AWARD

(Posted 25th January 2014)

Two old ‘friends’ are among the 10 TripAdvisor winners already announced for 2014, which scooped the coveted ‘Travelers Choice Award’ for the current year, affirming again the quality these properties consistently deliver to their faithful clientele. The Leopard Beach Resort and Spa and the Aberdare Country Club both are in the top 10 listed by TripAdvisor in a notification received yesterday and in particular the ‘Chui’ as the Leopard Beach is known – Chui is the Kiswahili word for Leopard – will undoubtedly have to add more trophy cabinets and put up another wall where this certificate can be displayed, considering the number of awards the property has collected over the years, including two more at last year’s World Travel Awards.

The same applies to the Aberdare Country Club, reopened two years ago after extensive renovation by new Ugandan owners Marasa Africa, which had bought the club – and sister property The Ark – and brought this fine upcountry lodge back to life after Fairmont had previously gone as far as close it down and only use it as a jump off point for guests staying at the treehotel.

Both properties had received extensive reviews at the time of my last visit, and coverage of their various accomplishments since then and for the benefit of readers I include the links to those articles as they are as valid today as there were back then.

In fact the Leopard Beach and Spa has since then started to open their latest innovation ‘The Residences’, self contained two and three bedroomed villas, all with private pool, featuring the latest in room comfort and offering the privacy some guests treasure while still offering the full range of facilities and amenities the resort has on its books, including their award winning Spa.

For more information visit www.tripadvisor.com and check out their award winning Kenyan properties. And going by the heading of one of the articles, Kenya still got what it takes to compete with the best in the world.
