South Africa has proposed introducing a R500 processing fee for its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system as part of draft immigration regulations. The proposal is currently open for public comment and has not yet come into effect. The ETA is currently mandatory only for selected visa-required travellers from China, India, Indonesia and Mexico, with a broader rollout expected over time.
