Air Seychelles to lease two Airbus A321 XLR aircraft

The Seychelles cabinet has reportedly approved the new international fleet strategy for Air Seychelles, paving the way for the airline to lease two Airbus A321 XLR aircraft for future long-haul operations. The aircraft was selected because it offers stronger commercial viability, improved operational efficiency, and better compatibility with the airline’s existing fleet of Airbus A320Neos, compared to the larger Airbus A330-800 NEO.
The new very long range single aisle Airbus has fast become the favourite for many airlines to fly long haul routes previously only accommodated by larger twin aisle wide body aircraft.
The move will allow Air Seychelles to fly to places like Paris and other long haul destinations in a financially viable fashion.
It is yet to be confirmed when the two aircraft will arrive to join the Air Seychelles fleet.
