RwandAir projects over 40 percent growth for 2011

RWANDAIR EXPECTS ANOTHER ‘BUMPER YEAR’

Traffic and passenger growth for RwandAir is expected to rise by over 40 percent in 2011 according to a source in Kigali. This quantum leap is attributed to the arrival of new aircraft and the addition of new routes – the first one this year being Brazzaville as of early March – while additional flights to existing destinations too will play a major role in capturing more passengers.

The two CRJ jets acquired from Germany’s Lufthansa last year have been fully integrated into the RwandAir fleet and the arrival later this year of two brand new B737-800 models will further boost the seat capacity, as this aircraft is larger than the presently used leased B737’s.

RwandAir is planning to further expand their regional network in coming months and updates will as usual be reported here, so watch this space.
